Integrated learning

In integrated learning we have been learning to dance. Some dances we are learning is:
-Line dance
-Rodeo reel
The music that we dance to is:
-The last waltz
-Cotton eyed joe

We are leaning also to keep in time to the beat. Most of the songs we dance to has 4 beats.

In the art we had to make a carton animal that is mixed with to animals I did a jelly bear which is a carbonation beetween a bear and a jellyfish
Next Step is to try different animals

In this task we had to read a article about the grass water spider and find facts and put them in our own words then make a poster about the spider.

Next step:I think I need to work on this more to understand what I read more.


In maths we are learning to tell time, read time tables, reading clocks, measure time, etc
Next step:to put this into practise and then do my test.

A day in the life of a year5 being bullied

A day in the in the life of a year 5 getting bullied by older students.

Its term 2 and I'm so excited to see my friends again. I have been wanting to see everyone so much.

I get to school super hyper active and ready to go. I see my best friend across the classroom as soon as we meet we exchange what we did in holidays.

                             That's the 9 o'clock, i run to the mat and sit down.

                                              MORNING TEA BELL RINGS
                           I run out to play a super game of tag with my friends.

After 10 minutes of hard core running around, I decide to get a quick drink from the fountain.
As I walk to the fountain i think to myself that people are watching me but I didn't care I just kept walking, 3 tall figures move towards me. I have just made a huge mistake by taking a drink. Suddenly, the 3 tall figures towered me and that's when I realised I had no where to go.

                                                       KICK! PUNCH!
All I could see was a fist coming towards my arm and then a sharp pain covered my leg, then I saw them, the 3 tall figures that would haunt my dream

I walked nervously to the classroom door holding my sore arm that was now throbbing while limping in pain, a small tear rolls down face . My teacher realises that I'm not my best but I was not planning on telling her what happened. No one talked to me for the whole middle block as we did maths, I felt alone. This did not seem right the way I  was feeling the way everyone stared at me.

10 minutes later as we pack up I decided to tell my teacher what happened at morning tea, the 3 tall figures. I had just made the bets decision. Inside as I talked to her I felt a small shimmer of hope deep inside, very deep.

                                                              AT LUNCH
My teacher watches out the window at lunch so she could see the 3 figures. I stood there scared but hopeful, the 3 figures stared to appear and walk towards me. My teacher jumps out and tells them to apologise to me and promise that they would never do what the did to me to anyone.

But I still feel that they are watching me, planning their revenge. What might happen tomorrow.

Reading Term 3

Walt-Make inferences.

To meet my Knowledge of vocabulary Walt I have done a word investigation chart which is to find words I'm not sure of and guess what it means and the the expert definition.

To meet my Make inferences I predicted what would happen in the See Ya, Simon book.

Fishes lives are filled with plastic,
a clean ocean would be fantastic.
A life of rubbish is what we are living, the garbage patch you mean the death patch.
Theres another pile of filth that covers our marine life's lives and homes.
We are ignorant people that do not care about our sea.

Maths Term 3

Walt-understand fractions/decimals and percentages.

The denominator does not change.
The numerator is what is gone.

4/9 The 9 is the denominator and the 4 is the numerator.

You can see that the numerator is plussed and the denominator is the same.

explanation of the coral reef 

The coral reef is magical, hard working and colourful. The food chain reef is good at working together so that means if one part is missing the whole thing falls apart.
Do you want colourful reefs in your ocean? stop poluting.

Have you ever stepped on a piece of coral and wondered am i breaking a home?
Well you are because some fish hide in producers if they are being hunted also to most fish the producers are their home.
The producers in the coral reef include seagrass, algee. The producers provide food for the herbivores. If the producers weren't alive the herbivores would die there fore, there would be a decrease in fish in the coral reef.

Did you know herbivores play a big role in the coral reef because they keep fish safety and heathy. Sea turtles are one of the herbivores in the coral reef. Most herbivores live on vegatation. If the herbivores didnt get their 5+ a day

The Escapeathing

The Escapeathing is the ultimate because it is the worlds best escaping animal. In the cloud, sea and grass lands. The Escapeathing has many preators and they mostly feed on their suroundings. Being so good at escaping they have a lot of amazing features.

An Ecapeathing has a number of features such as eagle eyes for seeing their prey as tiny as rabbits. They has ferocious tiger teeth for hunting because they can grab moving prey easily. They have pointy bats ears to hear from many different distances. They have a sharp, tough rino horn to attack prey from underneth. They have very tough skin like a dinosaurs for extra protection. On their backs they have magsict wings to fly above the clouds to get away, also to get away they use the speed  of cheethas. With thir hard turtle shell to protct them from harm. Their neck can tuck in their shell so it will not be hurt.

All these features help with its seroundings such as sea, land and clouds. With its powerful wing strokes it can fly so high it makes cloud angels but for flying so high and being so light they sit on clouds and mist bird shooters shoot them so now there are only 200 left in the world so if you are seen killing one you are sentanced for 2 years in jail. If you come across a hole in the dersert it will most likly have an Ecapeathing inside so WATCH OUT.

Escapeathings are omnvovies ao they may attack you only if you touch them. They have very senceative backs so it will hurt alot for them. They eat angel fish, seagulls, bats and more. The Escapeathing has many preators such as the king fish, the entire cat family and eagles. An escapeathing can kill easily with its caws and tiger teeth.

The Escapeathings main project is to help others if they are in trouble with its claws it can grab the vitiam by the neck and fly to safty. If it is challenged the Ecapeathing will immenty change into attack mode. It can run in circles arounf the preator to confuse them. The Escapeathing loves helping and gets furious if an outsider is on their treatory.

Overall, the Escapeathing is the ultimate animal because it can escape from harsh combact and attacks from the skies. The Escapeathing flys down to get its prey from the grasslands or the sea. When challenged the Escapeathing uses all of its amazing features to fight.

We are learning about the hunters and the hunted.
"If all insects on Earth disappeared, within 50 years all life on Earth would end.
If all human beings disappeared from Earth, within 50 years all forms of life would flourish."

I disagree because animals and other creatures would fight and some animals would need help from a vet. Insects aren't very important so life would not end if they disappeared.

learning plan

Our learning goal is to met our class mates and how to show care values. We learnt to show care values to people around the school. I have been treating teachers and office staff respectfully and treating my class mates how I what to be treated. At the start of the year we did how can we show office staff our care values and how can we show other teachers our care values. We got a lot of answers such as use our manners and greet them in the mornings.
My next step is to follow all the answers that we got on the sheet.

infering for reading

WALT: Infer meaning from text
In my lesson for infering we learnt how to infer in a text. Here are the questions we had to infer from the text: 
~Who the character might be (old, young, sporty, brainy etc)
~What kind of person the character is (kind, thoughtful, nasty, selfish etc)
~How the character is feeling at the moment and why.
~Where and when this action is taking place.
I have improved on this because I now know how to infer something from a text and a picture.
The steps I needed to take were infer the meanings by taking the text down little bits at a time to get my answer.
My next step is to infer pictures more deeperly.


My learning goal is to be better at bar graphs and remember what I have to do every time. I lean't to label and draw every thing in a bar graph. I'm very good at them now because I have done lots of them now to practise. My next step is to learn bar graphs.

Te reo

Our learning goal is to know our mihis off by heart. I have learn't to read and write my mihi. I have improved on saying it of by heart. My next step is to say my age and school in maori. The steps I had to take were say it over and over until I could get it.


We are writing a picture book for our buddy class. My story is about respect and it is about fairys that don't respect each others property. My next step is to proof read my writing to make sure it makes sense.
We are also writing to our pen pals in England. My next step is to write a good copy.

speech for years 1-3

If someone has made you fell sad and upset you will know if someone has been saying mean words or you have been kicked or punched.
Here are some ways to stand up to that person.
If they have been making you sad a lot that you are having lots of problems, you can always ignore them or if you have tired that and they are still making you sad you can go to a peer mediator or talk to your mum and dad or your teacher about it.
You can always tell the person about how you fell and ask them why are they making you sad because you never know why they are doing it.
If you make someone sad stop and think to yourself are you hurting their feelings and would you like to be sad like them.

my intergated learning speech 4-8

My speech is about how to stand up to a bully and how to prevent being bullied.

Firstly if you know your bully, try and talk to them about how you fell and solve the problem together.

If you think someone is trying to bully you into silence don't listen to them,  a good tip to always carry with you if you are being bullied is not hide hide but to make sure your voice is being heard. 

If you are being bullied online you can make a new account or ignore the user that is bullying you. 

If you are not being bullied but your friend is, try not to get involved but to give your friend helpful suggestions. Being scared of bullies is completely common but it's something you shouldn't hide, yes we all have that moment when we get our feelings hurt but it's ok. 

Getting help from your parents or teacher can really help or even talking about it to a close friend.

If you do bully people remember treat others the way you want to be treated. Remember don't hide he heard also remember don't be a bully because no one likes bullies.

my story I made at home


Once I knew a man by the name of Frank.  He never went anywhere besides his chair or he'd go to the loo or the cupboard for a snack or just to get a new book from his library of a shelf.
One day he had a desire for a nice sweet treat.   "Love, we're out of food" he called out to his wife.  "Hold on I'll just pop out to the shop, now you just sit there and read your book". Shortly after she had left, there was a tremendous earthquake that shook the little old house but as it was grumbling and things were tumbling, Frank sat in his chair and continued to read his book and thought to himself, '' It's better to die doing what you love than to hate yourself  for not doing what you love"
In a hurry his wife came running but she was in great shock on what her house looked like.  She would have checked on Frank but there were no doors, no windows or anything, only an old tin roof that sadly sat on the ground.   "Oh Frank", she called out.   "Yes dear", a voice called out.  "FRANK". "Yes',' not looking up from his book. "Wait, where are you?" "Um, I'm in the house". She scrambled for a way and suddenly she came to a little hole on the roof and dropped the grocery bags in and called out to Frank "goodbye, give me a ring if you need books or food or just some company" but before he could say he loved her, she left.
Now for years he lived there and got older and became horrifyingly sick.  He passed away reading his ever favourite book and now to this day I still remember the day we moved in there together.
